About the Instructors
Thanks for visiting the site and your interest in
our program. I can't remember a time when I
haven't had a love for art and creating. When I
was six I travelled to Hawaii to visit my
grandmother and saw her paint oils under the
banyon tree with fellow artists.  I was captivated
by the lifestyle and knew that I would be an
artist one day.
Many, many years later I moved to San Diego
to study art at San Diego State University where
I received my Bachelors Degree. After
graduating, I found a teaching position which
combined two things I was passionate about -
working with children and art. I taught for 6
years in a children's art program in Los Angeles,
but really wanted to open my own studio.  I
then moved to Williamsburg, VA where with my
partner, Justin Tompkins, opened The School of
Art.  The Virginia school has been growing now
for 12 years and new students are discovering
us daily. Currently it is running under the
direction of Kelsey Johnson. As for me? I'm
back on the west coast and our new studio is
now open.

My goal is to help students achieve their artistic
goals - no matter what the age.  Art is something
that all can enjoy and I'm here to guide and help
anyone with a desire to create.
Find out what's possible by scheduling your
Free lesson today.  You have nothing to lose
and a lifetime of ability to gain.
See you in the studio.
Sincerely,
Tina
